The New Hiroshima

There are many things about the war on terrorism( Which technonically doesn't exsist, it is merely Operation Iraqi Freedom, due to Bush not recieving the congresses backin on the war and yet again, flexing his muscles to show dominance). Like the enemy itself. Listen to any of our Presidents speech's and you'll hear the same thing repeated....Terrorists or "Islamic Facists". The "war" has a faceless enemy. Who decides who's not going to harm us and who is? Look at the Lackawanna Six, six muslim men who covered the fact that they participated in an Al-Queda funded terrror camp by saying they were tracing thier religion. Or how about the name John Walker Lindh, a poor soul mentioned in his fifteen minutes of fame, joined the Taliban in June of 2001, while studying the Muslim religionin Pakistan. Who's to say that this man isn't a terrorist? Didn't he train with the group suspected to be behind the attacks on 9/11? My point, is that it is hard to target a faceless enemy, one who is only targeted by thier faith and commitment to a certain religion. While still on the idea of 9/11, we attacked Afghanistan for thier terrror training camps and for the head of Osama bin Laden. We attacked Iraq because of a serious enough threat of Mass Destruction Weapons and to avenge the killings of thousands of Kurds by Hussein. Since the first invasion, we have lost Bin Laden, convicted and executed Saddam Hussein for mass murder, basically relocate the terrorists to respond against U.S. forces, lost hundreds of thousands of American Armed forces personnel and for what? Tracking weapons of mass destruction that still remain missing. Now why we didn't attack Pakistan which produced 9 of the hijackers is a question that needs to be asked. Lets take a look at World War II, after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor that claimed over 300 American lives, we retailated not only by joining the second world war, but by dropping an atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Maybe the same idea is in play for Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm not trying to say, lets turn the country into glass, but there's gotta be some way of showing all nations, dreaming of attacking the United States, that there will be serious consequences. After WWII, we enganged in a war over the freedom of South Korea, which was battled on Japan's doorstep. Have we seen any serious attacks on our embassy's or soverign lands from the Japanese? No, because they've learned, through the hard way, not to embark on efforts to harm the United States. I'm merely stating that another example needs to be shown to re-establish our dominance after countless failed wars with questionable motives.(Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraqi Frredom, Enduring Freedom)

perhaps its too ideological to think the extremists will realize what their doing is pervsion of the Koran and wrong...but i think perseverance, and overall commitment of the american people is necessary. Additionally, internation cooperation is VITAL. with the threat of Iran looming, we need to get countries like russia on our side to fight iran's funding of terrorism and opression, who are looking like irans allies more and more every day. (seriously putin is reinstating old soviet/kgb policies and aiming for a new eastern bloc(did you know there completly debt free o.0))
